Here is some knowledge, and information for you -
Every Christian Church operates under what is called a Denomination
The first Church was not an organization, but Jesus' apostles and friends. He said in Matthew 18: 20: 0 For where two or three have been gathered-together in My name, I am there in the midst of them”.
The first Christian organization was the Catholic Church, (We are not a Catholic Church.) which eventually broke into different denominations especially in the 1500s as a result of Martin Luther and John Calvin.
Christianity is divided between Eastern and Western theology.
In these two divisions there are six branches: Catholicism, Protestantism, Eastern Orthodoxy, Anglicanism, Oriental Orthodoxy, and Assyrians. Restorationism is sometimes considered the seventh branch.
The major Protestant denominational families are:
Advent Christians
Baptists
Congregationalists
Lutherans
Methodists
Pentecostals
Presbyterians
We are an Advent Christian Church -
The Advent Christian Church has a representative form of Church government. This means church members have the ultimate say in who leads the church. We get together and vote for how we manage our facility, who leads our congregation. We believe that each church building and the members of each building should govern themselves, and not be governed by people or an organization outside of our buildings that we have no personal relationship with.
Statement of Faith
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21)
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19)
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. (Philippians 2:6-11; 1 Peter 3:18; Romans 5:9; Matthew 26:64)
We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential. (Titus 3:4-7)
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. (John 14:15- 18; John 16:13; John 16:7-11)
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation. (1 Corinthians 15:10-23; John 5:28-29)
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 1:22-23; Acts 2:41-47)
We believe all people are created in God’s image and are made to glorify Him (Genesis 1:27; Isaiah 43:7).
We believe God’s design was the creation of two distinct and complementary sexes, male and female (Genesis 1:27; Matthew 19:4; Mark 10:6) which designate the fundamental distinction that God has embedded in the very biology of the human race.
We believe Marriage is ordained by God between a Man and a Woman - Matthew 19:4-6:
“Haven’t you read,” Jesus replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”
